New York Giants’ Saquon Barkley plans to convert endorsement revenue into bitcoin – Bitcoin News

Another professional athlete from the National Football League (NFL) plans to convert some of his earnings into bitcoin. 24-year-old running back for the New York Giants, Saquon Barkley, spoke about converting his ad revenue into bitcoin in a recent interview with Morgan Creek Digital co-founder Anthony Pompliano.

Saquon Barkley is driving inflation concerns towards Bitcoin

Saquon Barkley takes his marketing money and transfers it into Bitcoin (BTC), according to an interview he did with Anthony Pompliano on The Best Business Show. In Barkley’s interview, there was also Strike CEO Jack Mallers, and the NFL running back said Mallers helped educate him about the technology. The soccer player said he would deposit his marketing money directly into his Strike account to be converted into BTC.

Saquon Barkley says he got into Bitcoin after researching inflation.

It is estimated that Barkley makes roughly eight figure amounts ($ 10 million) annually from his marketing recommendations. The NFL player has advertising deals with Toyota, Pepsi, Campbell Soup Company, Nike and Panini America, according to NJ.com. Barkley told Pompliano that he has been researching how inflation is affecting the economy and that he is moving towards Bitcoin due to the negative effects of inflation on wealth creation.

“We see inflation and learn that wealth cannot be saved. That’s why I’m going to invest my marketing money in Bitcoin, “Barkley said on the show. “If you have the KDs, the Lebrons and [Tom] Bradys of the world, and you want to create generational wealth, you can’t do that with the sport I play … and come after injuries. If you sit out of football for a whole year, you realize that this game could be stolen from you, ”said the NFL running back.

Giants’ running back follows a large number of professional athletes who are turning to Bitcoin

Barkley isn’t the only NFL player to convert funds into Bitcoin (BTC) as Carolina Panthers offensive lineman Russell Okung converted half of his salary into Bitcoin. As BTC neared an all-time high, Okung was estimated to be the highest paid player in the NFL. Other professional athletes are also considering getting paid in cryptocurrencies as tons of announcements have been made this year.

England’s Premier League football team, Southampton Football Club, now has the option of receiving BTC bonuses. American stock car racer Landon Cassill announced to the public in June that he would be paid in crypto for the remainder of the NASCAR season.

NFL Draft Pick # 1 Trevor Lawrence claimed he reportedly converted all of his signing bonus into cryptocurrencies. Kansas City Chiefs NFL player Sean Culkin also said he will convert all of his salary into bitcoin this year. The American professional basketball team Sacramento Kings recently announced that it will offer everyone in their organization the opportunity to withdraw their salaries in Bitcoin.

Saquon Barkley was named the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year in his first season and has also made commercials for multimedia streaming company Hulu. Last year, Barkley and Baker Mayfield of the Cleveland Browns appeared together in a Hulu ad.

Barkley said he understands that an NFL career could be marred by things he can’t control, like injury, and Bitcoin can help his fortune avoid being eroded by other circumstances he can’t control, like the inflation.
